Users at allResearchers.com give
Informal References to each other to let other users
know about the projects they were working on
and what they have achieved. You can think
of a Reference as a kind of recommendation letter.
However,
References at allResearchers.com
are informal
and serve the sole purpose of introducing
others to the work/research you have done before, skills you
developed and people you worked with.
All the references that you receive from and provide for others
can be seen in your profile. Look at the profile of any user on
this site and you will find the References link to the user's
References Page.
However, you retain full control of the References that appear
on your References Page. You can hide/unhide References that have
been given to you from others and edit/delete References that
you have given to other users. Please, note that students on our
site can only receive References. Academics and members of the public
can receive as well as give References to other users.
It is easy to request a Reference from a person you know. Just
log in
with you account and follow the link "Manage Your References". You
can request references from people who are not yet members of The
allResearchers.com as well those who already are.
Providing a Reference is also easy. It is just a short and informal
description about what the person you worked/did research with
was working on and what you both have achieved.
In summary, it is of advantage to request and provide References
from/to people you know because it is a great way you to show everybody
what you worked on, what you achieved and who you worked with all
at one page. The page is called References Page and
is linked in your profile! If you are already a member, check out
your profile, look at your References Page and start requesting
References from people you know. So, once again:
Why request References?
-
Show other users what people who
supervised/worked/did research with
you think about your qualification and
academic/professional performance.
-
Have a page with your references
always ready to be shown to anyone.
-
Have an advantage when applying for
scholarships on this site. Your references
can immediately be seen in your profile.
-
Enhance your social network. Contacts are very
important in today's world. Create new connections
based on your previous achievements that can be
seen in your references.
-
Show others which bright individuals supervised
you/you have worked with and what you have achieved.
-
You retain full control. You request a reference
from a person you know. If you do not like a
reference that has been given to you, you can
always hide it from others.
Why provide References?
-
Help the user who requested a reference
enhance her/his social network and create
new connections.
-
Promote people you supervised/worked with
to others and raise your own profile as well.
The more references you provide, the more
people will notice you and want to do research
with you.
-
Show the community how many bright people
you supervised/worked with. It is only
because of bright colleagues like you that they
achieved great success. All references
you have provided to others can be seen
in your profile.
-
You retain full control. You provide a reference
for a person you know. You can always
change or delete any reference you have provided.
Happy Informal Referencing!
