1. Have something to grumble about? Use our Grumble Box!

Life is full of events! Every day something happens to you and you react to what is happening in a particular way. You might laugh, get excited, get bored, get annoyed etc. In any case, to be sure, now and then you feel the need to grumble about what happened to you. From now on, you do not have to look any further than our Grumble Box.

The Grumble Box is the place where you can let off steam by letting others know what happened to you and explaining why you are feeling a bit annoyed. It is also good for getting a bit of support from other grumblers so that you no longer feel like you are on your own with your little problem.

You can get to the Grumble Box from your profile. Just follow the link "Grumbles". It also shows in brackets how many grumbles you have added to the Grumble Box. So, if you see Grumbles(10) is someone's profile, it means that the person has added 10 grumbles to the Grumble Box.

OK, so, what are you waiting for? Think about what is on your mind now and add your first ever grumble to our Grumble Box.

And remember, every time you feel like grumbling about something, all you need to do is to add a grumble to our Grumble Box!

2. Print out our Scholarships and put them on your school's blackboard

Our scholarships database enjoys big attention from our visitors and members. Academics put their scholarships into the database and students browse it to get funding for their research. And all that is for free!

A new feature in our Scholarships database is that you can now print out every scholarship to put it on your school's blackboard. This way you will let students in your school know about the scholarships offered in other universities around the world!

To print a scholarship, you just click on the printer icon next to it. A new window will appear with the printer-friendly version of the scholarship ready to be printed out and put on your school's blackboard!

So, go to our scholarships database and search for scholarships from your subject using the search box on the page. You will get a list of scholarships. Next to each scholarship, you will see a printer icon. Click on it, print out the scholarship and pin it on your school's blackboard for everybody to see. You will amazed at the number of grateful students you will help to find funding for their research!

3. Tips for scholarship advertisers

In this section, we would like to give some tips to the academics, who advertise their scholarships in our scholarships database, that can help to draw more qualified attention to the advertised positions. Qualified attention means that your advert should attract attention of the people, who may be suitable for the vacancy, while not attracting those who are definitely not. Here are our tips:

  1. Do not give out any email addresses in your advert

If you give out any email addresses in your advert, you are on the sure way to attract spammers instead of qualified attention. So, never do it. Users who get interested in your advert and want get in touch with you will send you a message through our system. The system makes sure that the message will have the same subject as the subject of your scholarship so that you will never have to guess what the enquiry is about.

  2. Print out your advert and put it on your office door and school's blackboard

When your advert is ready, you will be able to see it in the scholarships database. Next to it, you will see a priner icon. Use it to print out your scholarship and put it on your office door as well as your school's blackboard.

You are looking for a talent, right? So, you do not want to miss it when they pass your door. Catch bright people's attention by pinning your scholarship to your office door!

  3. Make a very catchy title and subtitle

If you want to attract the best talent in the world, you have to offer the best research projects to work on. Moreover, you have to be able to provide a very catchy and concise title for your project to make it noticeable by the best talent.

To provide a catchy title for your project, cast you mind back to the time when you were a PhD student. You got excited about a research project because it promised to solve an exciting problem. Now, return to your project and think about the exciting problem it is going to solve and write a title that would have attracted you if you were a PhD candidate now.

A good way to come up with a suitable title is to look at other advetisers' titles in our scholarships database. Make sure your title is the best and you will be sure to attract qualified interest.

Besides the title, also use the subtitle to give a bit more explanation about your project. Never just put a dash in it.

  4. Do not make the scholarship description short

Students want to get as much info as possible about the project you are offering before getting in touch with you. So, do not be concise when writing the project description. Instead, be very detailed.

Providing a long project descrption is also a good way of not getting lots of queries from people who want to know the details but turn out to be unsuitable for the project in the end.

So, follow the advice and you will be able to attract the best talent eager to do research with you.
